MOVIE TITLE: AWAKE

"Jesica Alba, Hayden Christenson, and Terrence Howard star in first-time director/screenwriter Joby Harold's nerve-jangling psychological thriller about a man who experiences the frighteningly common surgical phenomenon known as "anesthetic awareness," in which those laid out on the operating table remain acutely aware of what is going on around them despite remaining completely paralyzed and unable to cry out for help."

Awake was not as good as I was expecting it to be. There were parts that were quite boring for me, including what seemed like 15 minutes were the main guy talks to himself. The main thing about this movie entertaining for me was it having Jessica Alba in it. Although there were quite a few boring parts in this movie for me, I still give it a 7 out of 10 because it did have a twist.

MOVIE TITLE: DONNIE DARKO

"A high school student must face his dark destiny as delusions bring him face to face with a demonic rabbit who has eerie visions of the past and deadly predictions for the future in this intricate web that will leave you questioning what is real and what is mere hallucination. Jake Gvllenhaal leads an all-star cast including Drew Barrymore, Noah Wyle, Jena Malone, Patrick Swayze and Mary Mcdonnell in the mesmerizing story that took audiences by storm."

Donnie Darko is a boy who has some major issues. The movie takes place in 1988, the Darko family's life changed when a jet engine fell onto their house. After the incident people started to notice that Donnie Darko is rapidly changing personalities.

This is one of them movies where you think you know the ending, but then there is a twist. There is quite a bit of bad language, I give it a 6 out of 10. Parts seem dragged out and that got boring to me.

MOVIE TITLE: THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY

“Filled with endless laughs and unbelievable sight gags, this “cheerfully crude and way over the line” (Los Angeles Times) romantic comedy is a “gut-busting blast” (USA Today). Still suffering from a high school crush on Mary (Cameron Diaz), the nerdy, angst-driven Ted (Ben Stiller) tracks her down thirteen years later with the help of sleazy private investigator Pat Healy (Matt Dillon). But after one look at Mary, Healy decides he wants her for himself and soon the two men are engaged in an outrageous all-out battle for Mary’s affections.”

This is a pretty funny romantic comedy; a high school crush lasts 13 years so he hires a guy recommended by a friend to find his high school crush. They both want her which makes it funny as they fight for a girl everyone seems to be wanting! I give this movie a 7 out of 10, would be hire but throughout the movie there are these two guys who sing and they annoyed me, but I loved the ending!

MOVIE TITLE: THE NOTEBOOK

"As teenagers, Allie (Rachel McAdams) and Noah (Rya Gosling) begin a whirlwind courtship that soon blossoms into tender intimacy. The young couple is quickly separated by Allie's upper-class parents who insist that Noah isn't right for her. Several years pass, and when they meet again, their passion is rekindled, forcing Allie special meaning to an older gentleman (James Garner) who regularly reads the timeless love story to his aging companion (Gena Rowlands)."

Here is a romantic story of love, loss, and renewal. A young man meets a girl and falls in love, she is the daughter of a well to d family, he works at the local lumber mill for $0.40 an hour. The problem lies in the well to do parents as they see him unfit for their daughter. As in most romantic movies things start out rough, get good, end good/bad.

Has a few nudity scenes, and a ending that I didn't see coming the way it did. I give this one a 7 out of 10. As always, feel free to leave a comment and state your opinion. Post to ya later!

MOVIE TITLE: FREDDY VS JASON

“Freddy Krueger is in hell-literally! And like an inmate with a life sentence, Freddy’s been plotting a fantastic revenge…all he needs is a little help. In comes Jason Voorhees, the equally iconic madman and perfect means for Freddy to once again instill fear on Elm Street. As the bodies begin to pile up, it becomes clear that Jason isn’t willing to step aside. Now, with a terrified town in the middle, the two titans of terror enter into a horrifying and gruesome showdown. Winner kills all!”

Friday the 13th collides with a nightmare on Elm Street. It’s been years since people found a way to forget about Freddy Krueger, with no one scared of him he has no power so he teams up with Jason Voorhees. I give this movie 9 out of 10 because of the great idea for Jason to start killing on Elm Street to remind people of Freddy Krueger.

Things become annoying for Freddy Krueger when Jason Voorhees keeps murdering those who remember and dream of him, that’s when things get really heated. While being a horror film it has it’s funny parts as well. Like all Jason Voorhees movies this one to has nudity and bad language, blood, gore, and loaded with screams! MOVIE TITLE: THE STONED AGE

"Crank it up and get into the groove with two radically hellacious buds, Joe and Hubbs. It's the grooy 70's and music and parting are king! The dudes are out crusin' one night in the Blue Torpedo (a blue Volkswagon) when they eyeball Tack (a dude), who tells them where to find some burlacious (hot) babes. They jam and meet Lanie and her friend Jill. Lanie turns out to be more than Joe and Hubbs ever imagined - TALL, BLONDE, AND BEAUTIFUL! The buds think they're stylin' (looking cool) until Tack shows up. He leads everybody to a wild party where the girls are abundant and the dudes are party kings. Everything and everyone come loose as the guys hit the party and go for it. For Joe and Hubbs it's the night of their lives with the girls of their dreams. No one doubts this is one unbelievably rad (incredible) night. CHECK IT OUT!"

This is a low budget movie that's supposed to take place in the 1970s era, however, you can clearly see cars from the 80s and 90s in the flim. The movie it's self was touch and go, some parts was ok while other parts just wasn't very good. This movie is based on under age drinking and a couple of buddies who keep tryin to get into some girls pants, one is the pushy type while the other friend just wants to take it slow. I give this movie a 7 out of 10 because while some parts was not appealing to me, I would watch it again sometime. This movie also has some nudity in it.

MOVIE TITLE: THE DEVIL'S ADVOCATE

Hotshot attorney Kevin Lomax's 64-0 case record has brought him a temping offer from an elite New York firm. But the job Lomax accepts isn't what it seems. The Devil is in the details. In this gleeful, modern Gothic fable, Keanu Reeves plays eager Lomax and Al Pacino is the charismatic firm founder who knows there are cases to be won...and souls to be lost. From Lomax's court triumphs and skyrocket rise to its double-twist ending, "The Devil's Advocate" is red-hot entertainment. Lomax's life, wife (Charlize Theron) and soul are on the line. He's landed a job that's Heaven on Earth...which can lead him striaght to Hell.

This movie staring Keanu Reeves in my opinion is one of the better movies based in court rooms out there. It's definitely not a normal court room/laywer based movie! As Keanu Reeves's character Lomax has never lost a case in his career he is suddenly presented with a case he isn't sure he should win, and then he gets the offer to goto New York, after he gets there it is not what he expected and things just go down hill. The ending is partly expected, however there is a twist worth watching it for! I rate this a 8 out of 10.

MOVIE TITLE: HOUSE OF WAX

Thrills and chills ooze all over you in House of Wax, from Dark Castle Entertainment and legendary horror producers Joel Silver and Robert Zemeckis(Gothika, House on Haunted Hill). When their car breaks down on a road trip, six college friends are sidetracked into an eerie backwoods town. Curiosity gets the better of them when they are intrigued by its macabre House of Wax. They soon find out that the town is not what it seems and they must find their way out before they fall victim to its ghoulishly inventive killers.

This is a movie that makes you wonder about peoples hobbies, or how far they take them. Six college buddies are heading to LSU stadium to see a game when they decide to break for the night and set up camp in the middle of no where, which is their first big mistake out of many. After finding out a fan belt broke a couple stay behind to fix it, after getting into town they find it's like a ghost town, this is where the fun begins.

House of Wax keeps the action going, while not all that scary unless you scare easy, it's still a good movie I give it a 8 out of 10. As always, feel free to leave a comment and state your opinion. Post to ya later!

MOVIE TITLE: NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN

A hunter (Josh Brolin) stumbles upon a dead body, $2 million and a stash of heroin in the woods. He absconds with the cash, but brutal thief Anton Chigurh (Javier Bardem) comes looking for it, with a local sheriff (Tommy Lee Jones) on his trail. The roles of hunter and prey blur as the violent pursuits of money and justice collide. Joel and Ethan Coen direct this dark morality tale, which won four Oscars in 2008, including Best Picture.

My opinion on this movie is that it wasn't what I had expected it to have been. It wasn't completely awful but it was far from great. There's violence and gore, but the action was very slow paced. The character Anton Chigurh's weapon of choice was some sort of air gun which doesn't leave much evidence behind, but that was roughly the coolest thing to me. I give this movie a 5 out of 10...

MOVIE TITLE: THE THIRST

Clean and sober for the first time in years, Lisa (Clare Kramer) and Maxx (Matt Keeslar) are just beginning to get their lives together when they fall under the spell of the seductive Darius (Jeremy Sisto), the leader of a local vampire clan. Lured into his world, the couple soon finds a new addiction -- blood -- in this darkly humorous gore fest co-starring Adam Baldwin and featuring the music of Rasputina, Jack the Mad and more.

Hmm, what can I say about this one... It had it's good parts, but just as many bad parts. It wasn't just another no budget independent horror movies which we have seen a lot over the past year or so, however, it wasn't no big budget movie either. There was quite a bit of nudity, and even more gore as the vampires don't just suck the blood in this one, they rip out pieces of flesh. I enjoyed the soundtrack on this movie though. I give it a 7 out of 10.

MOVIE TITLE: THE DESCENT

The Descent A pleasure caving trip turns frightful in this horror film writte and directed by Neil Marshall. Six girlfriends, led by thrill seeker Juno (Natalie Mendoza), go spelunking a year after a tragic incident. But when they get trapped under the earth, all rationale excapes them as they start to suffer from limited oxygen and delusions...or are they? Now, the friends must find a way to escape the cave and the murky creatures that lie within it. (2006)

My opinion on this movie is mixed feelings. I liked the movie it's self, the creatures was cool, but everything was so dark it kind of got annoying. The tragic incident at the start was sad, then the movie takes place one year later where a group of girls go to explore a cave, but it's not the cave they orignally thought they was going too which was only a spelunking class level of 2, Juno the thrill seeker lied and went to a cave never before explored (so she thought). This movie has a few parts that made me go "oh that shouldn't have happend", I give it a 8 out of 10 and would watch it again just for the creatures faces!

MOVIE TITLE: THE TEN

An all-star cast that includes Paul Rudd, Winona Ryder, Jessica Alba, Oliver Platt, Liev Schreiber, Famke Janssen, Rob Corddry, Adam Brody, Ken Marino and Gretchen Mol, among others, takes part in this amusing collection of 10 irreverent tales inspired by the Ten Commandments. Nothing is sacred in this comedy anthology written by Ken Marino and director David Wain, formerly of the comedy troupe the State.

This is a movie based on the ten comandments, it's made up of 10 short stories that put the comandments into a perspective and basicly make fun of them. This is not a movie for the avgerage christan as it makes fun of the ten comandments. I would say this movie requiers a certain type of humor to enjoy. Some of it was funny to me and other parts didn't have an affect on me all together, I still give this movie a 5 out of 10.

MOVIE TITLE: THE OTHER SIDE

I thought the other side was a pretty good movie, one of the better movies I have seen lately based on people coming back from the dead (not zombified). In this strangely action packed movie the story base is that a young man is killed (this happens fast, I looked at my plate then back up and he was in another realm), then some others in this realm take him with them as they have found a exit from hell (AKA the pit), and then they have reapers after them to bring them back.

As if being chased by hell bound reapers wasn't bad enough, he comes back to find his girlfriend who was supposed to meet him the night he died is now missing! I give this movie a 9 out of 10 and would diffidently watch it again. As it has gory violence it's not one for children, then again what movie with hell bound reapers chasing down those who have escaped is for kids?

MOVIE TITLE: STARDUST

Stardust is a reality meets fantasy world based movie. It's about these two "worlds" that is divided by a wall which those of their world are not supposed to cross, however not everyone listens do they? I loved the story behind this movie, a young man has fallen for a girl that won't give him the time of day so one night they seen a falling star and she says she would be with him if he brought back the star for her within 1 week (for her birthday). During this week he goes through a lot and you will just have to see how it ends, but I would watch this one again!

And to top off the story behind it, Robert De Niro plays a cross dressing, lighting catching captain!

MOVIE TITLE: SUNSHINE

Sunshine was a good movie, but I kept getting interrupted by people while watching it so it was kind of hard for me to follow all of it. It didn't have much of a beginning and got right into what was going on. I don't know how but the sun is dieing and they have came up with an idea to "restart" it and as always things go wrong, you can kind of see the end coming as in what happens just not the way it happens...Good show, just wish I could have watched it closer!

MOVIE TITLE: BATS: HUMAN HARVEST

Bats: Human Harvest is the sequel to the 1999 film titled Bats, after 8-9 years it's been made. While it has been years since I have seen the original Bats, I think it's the one with Lo Diamond Phillips in it where theres a town that gets attacked by bats an they end up safe guarding the local high school

Bats: Human Harvest takes place in Russia, I don't remember a guy in the first movie that created these killer bats, they just seemed to appear if I remember right. But the guy who created them moved to an area in a forest in Russia and whoever goes in don't come back out.

The movie was O.K it had a pretty good story base. However, it didn't have what the first movie had since it took place in a forest and not in a town with more people.

MOVIE TITLE: MR. MAGORIUMS: WONDER EMPORIUM

I rented this movie not knowing what it was about, just that it had Dustin Hoffman in it which I enjoy most of his movies and this one did not let me down. Mr Magoriums Wonder Emporium is strange, creative, and wacky! Dustin Hoffman is like Willy Wonka, but instead of a world of candy it's a world of toys. This one is interesting for both kids or adults, it's funny and there is something weird behind every door (and on every shelf)!

I give this movie a full 10 out of 10 on creativeness, and a 7 out of 10 for grabbing the attention of kids (there are a few parts that may not fully interest the kids). Fill free to comment as always I enjoy seeing other peoples opinions, post to ya later.

MOVIE TITLE: DOOM!

Hello
I decided that since I watch so many movies, the best way for me to keep this blog alive (and have fun keeping it alive) as to give movie "reviews". I will give my thoughts on a movie or maybe a TV show. Feel free to post your own reply, and if you have seen the movie/show go ahead and give your thoughts on it as well!

I know I can't be the only one that loves to watch movies, including reading other peoples thoughts on what their opinion about the movie was, so I think this blog will allow the occasional and movie addicts alike a place to join together and put there thoughts in!

FIRST MOVIE TITLE: DOOM!

Yesterday I spent a good amount of the day playing with different blog sites, found this one and basically just lounged around. I thought one of my favorite shows (House: pill popping MD) was supposed to come on at 10:00 PM but it didn't. I found Doom just coming on, I know I seen it once when it first came out (2005) but didn't remember much so I got my pizza and laid back to watch it.

At first I thought I would be changing the channel because for about the first 10-15 minutes nothing really happened, they was "going to the arc" how interesting. However, after it really got going it was quite a good movie, the graphics of the creatures was freaky (couldn't get enough of how they looked!).

One of the best parts of this movie for me was the "Nano-wall crossing" for sure! The "Nano-wall" a wall you can walk through, enter a code and it turns to a metal wall. When you can walk through it it looks like a waterfall does when looking through sort of, hard to see what lies amongst the other side!

Well that's my thoughts on Doom, submit your thoughts and opinions on this movie! Thank you for viewing! Have a great day, post to ya later!
